M1 carbine question

Initial production M1 carbines had no bayonet lug. One was added later that mounted the M4 bayonet. Did the majority of M1 production carbines have the bayonet lug or not?

The vast majority of M1 Carbines DID NOT have the barrel band that allowed for mounting a bayonet. Carbines began getting made using this barrel band in October of 1944.

Most carbines were re-arsenaled and then received the newer barrel band with bayonet lug.
