Quality-wise, they are the same. Rock-Ola's are more desirable for collectors. I once had a complete Rock-Ola (receiver and barrel), which shot far to the left. A bent barrel, I presume. It was back from S Korea.
Before I tried to straighten it, I got a chance to trade it for a Winchester from Austria. The other person wanted to give it to his dad, who built carbines at Rock-Ola during WWII, to be a wall hanger. The Winchester I got in return is one sweet shooter!
Rockola's are more "collectable". I only buy shooters at this point and have an Inland, which is a very common carbine.
A great website is www.m1carbineforum.com
