Hi all,
I have just found this site and would like to post that I have two M1 Garand sites on the net. Each has copies of the Ordnance files telling how the M1 Garand got into production. These files on the site are not in order but each site has different files on them. I also have two books on these files as well as US Army Signal Corps footage showing the M1 Garands being built.
Here's one site to check out if you wish both sites are connected.

I hope I am not breaking any rules
Thanks again

Welcome eclancy! Glad you made it here. BTW, you don't happen to know where the Garand home was in St. Remi do you? The town hall burned down in the '70s and all the records were lost. The old school he went to still stands and I'm going to ask my friend to swing by and see if they have any records. He lives only a few blocks away from the school.

4v50 Gary,
I don't have that data as to Mr. Garand's address in St. Remi. However, in Vol 1 of the Garand Papers 1920 to 1937 I have a copy of his Citizenship Papers, when he became a US Citizen. I post different files from Ordnance on my sites. One other thing is that I will not post anything I don't have a copy of in the Ordnance files to back it up with on the M1 Garand.
Thanks for the welcome.
Thanks again
Clancy

4V50 Gary,
You guys should get the books they not only have Ordnance files on the M1 Garands but G.H. Drewry, Kirk's etc., papers on what was going on to get the M1 Garand into production. They start in 1920.
Thanks again
Clancy
