My ex-wife didn't much care for the Garand or '03 especially the hit on the credit card. Now she and the crdeit card bill are history. My girlfriend loves the AR. Now both Garands and the '03 are all mine and the girlfriend goes to the range with me to empty some shell casings but I have to give her Wolf ammo for the AR to make sure I can always keep up. She has similar training to mine so some days that can be a chore.
Go with CMP, best deal around. Do what you have to do to buy from them. Even if you need to replace the barrel, CMP sells those too.
