Gentlemen,
Please read these files as they are important in the history of the M1 Garand Rifle. It is very technical data but give us the base to show why a change of ammo was important and WW 2 had already started!!!
These three files gives us the plan Ordnance was working on to change from M1 Ball ammo to the new M2 Ball ammo which worked much better than the old M1 Ball ammo. When the changes in the case of M1 Ball ammo was made Ordnance order that the new improved M1 Ball was ok to be used again in the M1 Garand Rifle. I have more files on this problem and it was very important that Ordnance got 30.06 up and running in the New M1 Garand.
