m1 safe load

im loading some '06 for my buddys m1 becasue were going shooting tomorrow

what is a safe load for it that i dont have to worry about the op rod

the only rifel powder i have right now is win 748

In Hornady's 7th edition there is a M1 Garand section.

Win 748 is listed with:
168gr bullets with 41.1 start and 48.4 Max
178gr bullets with 40.1 start and 45.3 Max

Since there is no load data for win 748 with a 150gr bullet I can't quote you anything.

Max COL is 3.34"
Trim length is 2.484 Min/ 2.494 Max
