Hi all,
Here's an easy one for most of you guys. During production of the M1 Garand at Winchester and Springfield Armory in late 1941 there was a major problem. Springfield Armory was very upset by this problem and went to Ordnance Dept., War Dept., in Washington D. C This problem would cause SA production to drop. Any idea what this major battle was about?

Hi all,
The answer to this one is as follows:
Ordnance at the War Dept., gave Winchester, remember late 1941, Just before we got into WW2, a higher rating for getting machines for the production of the M1 Garand. This higher rating was way above that of Springfield Armory. This meant that SA could not get equipment before Winchester. SA wanted a higher rating as they were making most of the production Garands and the battle went on and on.
