M1A Cleaning Rod Size

Could somebody please tell me what is the preferred length cleaning rod for a Springfield M1A with a 22" barrel with the flash suppressor?

Got a tape measure?

Mine's 25" from tip of suppressor to breech. You'll want a rod a little bit longer than that, but I can't say I know the actual length of any of my rods. They're long enough I guess. If you're using a rod guide add whatever it adds.

I use a bore snake. It works as well as any rod and takes a fraction of the time.
