I haven't seen an M1 in an M1A1 stock that has ever had what I'd call a "decent" price. The few I've seen have all been upwards of $1000, though usually with the guy at the gun show trying to pass it off as an authentic WW2 issue M1A1 even when it simply isn't.
You might be better off trying to buy a standard M1 (and Inland if you're a purist for the M1A1) and then puchasing a repro stock for it seperately. A CMP carbine plus a less than $200 repro M1A1 stock will run you less than the prices I've seen people trying to get for an assembled M1A1.
A genuine GI M1A1 Carbine will sell for well into four figures. If you want one as a shooter, pick up a GI or commericial Carbine (not a Universal) and drop it into a replica stock. The replica stocks are available from several vendors, including Cheaper Than Dirt.
