M855

The difference between 55 grain M193 and 62 grain M885 trajectory is close enough for GooberMint work.

How they match up in Your rifle can only be determined by firing both and see where the POI is down range.
It will require a sight change, but not much.

Penetration in hard surfaces light sheet metal is better then M193, but it is in no way to be confused with armor piercing ammo.

Pretty much all 5.56 FMJ bullets tumble when they hit flesh.

How would the POI be differen from 55 grains FMJ?
About the same IME.

What is the penetration factor of those bullets?
The M855 will penetrate much better. M193 typically fragments on hard surfaces. With M855, the jacket and lead peel off and the penetrator keeps going through some pretty hard stuff. Keep in mind the jacket can come back at you and the penetrator will either penetrate or ricochet.

Do they tumble upon entry?
I can’t say from experience, but I’ve read from several sources the M855 does not fragment as well as M193. Keep in mind fragmenting will be greatly influenced by velocity on target.

The only M855 I've loaded were pull downs from Jeff Bartlet and accuracy was much less than my typical 55gr Hornday FMJ.
