Feel free to make your predictions before watching the test. The conditions are: M855A1 fired from a 20" Colt AR-15 A2 vs The Target Man/Spartan Armor systems level III+ Armaply ATC. This is a brand new product that has only been on the market for a couple weeks. To help put it in perspective, this is my earlier test of M193 on the same plate: https://youtu.be/6RGdXv8YMFA

And another channel's test of M855A1 on a different company's level III+ plate:

Actually had less vel than the previous M193 test (which broke 3,300 fps).

Wow! This is a serious kudo for the ammunition engineering arts. The 5.56mm has veered from one extreme to the other trying to compensate for a small bore, and this design may just have captured it all.

There is no way the powers that be will let us have this ammunition.

As I stated in the other thread, bullet composition has a lot to do with armor penetration....

The steel penetrator in M855A1 is about twice as heavy as the M855 penetrator, and the penetrator is more secure in the body.

I would like to see how well it handles about 20 degrees obliquity....
