BUCK-0001-003.jpg

Hi Mike , ANCHOR .... The grapples support a load of 600 pounds. The first BUCK 184 was made for the request of the US Navy Seal .
They used this knife for a short moment because it was too heavy .

Boy, I'd hate to have to toss a knife up over my head, let alone swing from a string tied to it.

Though with the hooks on, it'd be pretty handy for pulling trip wires a la bomb disposal. Though you may find yourself a bit short in the knife department after that.

So, mister moon, are they for climbing or what? (I've been curious about that too.)

Hello PaX ... For " climbing " .... I will must try ! ahah .... Seriously , i beleive NO !

I edited the title to make it more clear. I hope that's all right.

I've often wondered about those points on the 184 . . . they look like they'd make it terribly frustrating to use the knife as a knife.

Hi Don Gwinn , good idea the M9 place .

For use the 184 , it was certainly better to remove the two spikes :)

Mister Moon ( FRANCE ..... French riviera Nice )

The spikes are easily removeable.
The 184 is a bit heavy, and for military use where supplies are readily avaible, the weight would be unwarranted.

But for long term survival use, were supplies are gleaned from the enviorment, i think the bit of extra weight , the saw teeth, the rapel hooks etc are an asset.

And the m9 is even better.
