Mac-friendly game cams?

In my quest to do in whatever predator we've got on our land, I went to Gander Mountain today and found a pretty cool "distressed rabbit" and predator call setup. Then off I went to look at game cams. Most do not post any info about their compatibility, but the ones that did all said "PC".

I have an iMac.

Does anyone here run Mac AND have a game cam...and if so, what game cam do you use?

I do not have a Mac or a game cam. However, most game cams I have seen are exactly like digital cameras, in that they have a removable memory card (usually SD format) which you take out and put in your computer to view the pictures. SD cards are compatible with Macs, as long as your Mac has an SD card reader. If it doesn't have one built in, you will have to buy a card reader (assuming the game cam doesn't have one). The important thing here then becomes finding a card reader that is compatible with a Mac.

On a side note, if you do need to get a card reader, I would order it from Newegg (the site I linked to). They are a top notch company with great customer support and great prices. I haven't priced them at Best Buy or Circuit City or any of the other retailers, but Newegg is usually significantly cheaper.

Edit: The one I linked to is for SD and MMC cards. If your gamecam takes another format card, let me know and I can help locate one for the format you need. Also, most card readers connect to a computer using a USB port. Your computer should have one, but I figured it was worth mentioning in case for some odd reason it doesn't.

I second NewEgg and the advice from bdg146. I've got several Macs, but have never used a Game Cam. If you have any doubts about compatibility whatsoever, try to buy the camera from a brick-and-mortar place with a decent return policy (like WalMart). I'm pretty sure everything will work fine with the Mac. I suspect iPhoto will automatically launch when you connect up and start pulling pictures right off the camera or memory card.

Every card reader I've ever tried with the Mac worked just fine.

My Macs read/write SD cards just fine. Since I don't have an internal reader, I just use the Card Reader app on my Palm Treo and tether it with the USB cable.
