Got bored a few weeks ago and started working on a set of new furniture for my Mossberg 702 Plinkster. I had hacked the original synthetic stock up pretty good for various other projects, and it just wasn't a nice looking rifle anymore.

(though it was just as much of a tree rat blasting machine as when new)

And the new wood:

I used a piece of normal construction type pine for the stock, carved mostly with my cheap $9 walmart pocketknife and filed and sanded smooth and even. Finished it off with some Minnwax 231 "Gunstock" stain, I may add something to the butt of the stock later, but its comfy enough as is (not real worried about being bet up by recoil on this here rifle ;) ).

The front handguard was modified from an existing handguard taken off an airsoft Mauser C96 "carbine". I Used a dremel to make the necessary cuts and holes for mounting (the holes on the side are left over from its airsoft days when it had some super tacticool rails on it!), filed and sanded smooth, and stained with the Minnwax 231 again. Its a different type of wood than the stock was made from, so its a slightly different color, but im ok with it until I can make a truely matching handguard.
