My Govt model 1911 has started to allow/cause the magazine follower to jump the slide stop. This effectively locks the magazine into the pistol and really messes up my tactical reloads. This is a recent development and happens with several different magazine followers (Flat top,round top, plastic, dimpled, ) comprising several different brands. I have messed with the metal followers to try to reposition the portion of the follower that should contact the stop but didn't seem to help. Replaced the slide stop, didn't help. I have ordered new mag springs from Wolf but am pessimistic about the results. Please, anyone have any expierence or thoughts about this? Next IDPA match is this Sat 7-16-05. Hope for some resolution before then.
