Looking up new mag springs for a friend I came across these on the Midway website.

Perhaps this is why so many people are having problems with their eight round magazines? :scrutiny:

I'm one of the folks with no problems using 8-rnd single stack 1911 mags (wide body 1911 mags are another story, but I'm pretty good at fixing them). All mine (other than the Mec-Gars) have the "Devel" now called "Shooting-star" follower, but none have bent springs like shown in the photo.

The bottom two followers I've not yet seen in a mag -- I see why after following the links. These are for .38Super and 10mm mags.

It'd be interesting to see the bottom of the shooting-star follower shown with the bent spring. I'm wondering if this is another go cheap mod, remove the punched out lip on the bottom that engages the loop at the top of the spring and bend the spring in an attempt to keep the top turn from slipping back.

I think John Browning would weep if he had lived to see this. :cuss:

If people are dumb enough to use this stuff they'll get what they richly deserve sooner or later. :scrutiny:
