My first handgun was a revolver.

I have always been partial to them

You will have to excuse the top two I don't know what I was thinking

I watched it too. It is funny how his movies with so many pro-gun scenes, references, etc. have so much bad gun handling, poor trigger discipline, sweeping people, etc.
I also liked it when one of the assasin cops screwed the suppressor onto his revolver.

I'm a bottom feeder kind of guy, but something about a deep blued smith with a color case hardened hammer and trigger along with some custom grips is just sexy and always has a special place for me.

The 29-5 above me is a sweet looking piece to me. I need something like that.

I've recently started training myself on a ruger LCR for a summer carry handgun, but she ain't nuthin' to look at. :) I'm pretty sure I bought the wrong revolver, I need to look around for something in blued steel...
You need one of these :)

reppans beat me to it. They're from 5 star firearms and work similar to HKS loaders but they seem easier to turn, with out being so loose as to be accidentally released. Also, because they are relieved they seem to fit better than the round shape of the HKS loaders.

re. the 29 vs 57 in Dirty Harry...

Skeeter Skelton said - per Roy Jinks, IIRC - that at the time of the movie, all model 29s were designated for customer orders and Smith refused to pull one designated for another customer for the movie. So, to meet the movie's request one was assembled from parts at the Custom Shop. It was a truly hand-fitted one-of-a-kind just for the movie.

27y.o here, and I love revolvers. First I ever purchased was my 629-1 6" that I bought about 4 years ago. Also have a SP101 2.25" and a couple days ago I bought a 625-8 4" which I have to wait till next tuesday to pick up. When I first started shooting I loved autos, but lately I have been on a big revolver kick and want to add a few more to the collection.

In the mid 80's I bought my first semi auto pistols. A llama .45 cal. (very pretty gun) and a Jennings .22 (yeah, I really knew how to pick em') I didn't own another semi auto until about 3 years ago. Over the past 3 years it kinda feels like I'm just renting my semi's because I trade them so often. I do however keep my revolvers. I have 3 I won't let go of. The '74 S&W Mod. 36, '72 Ruger BH 3 screw, and the '72 Ruger Security Six. I gave my Pastor the 1958 S&W Mod. 14 4" bbl. Semi auto's come and go......but I love my revolvers.

You can't point them horizontal and look cool like the gangstas.

I hear ya Jonah. I think I'm missing something, with all the hype, and go and buy a gangsta gun. Shortly after it gets traded.

I'm definitely a revolver guy... I grew up shooting revolvers...

I do remember when Dirty Harry came out, before that movie, you couldn't give a model 29 away, they were setting on some shop shelves for as low as $125.00 and they wouldn't sell,,, Smith was rumored to be dropping it from production... Two months after the movie, there was a 6 to 10 month waiting list, and the prices were as high as $500.00, in early 70's money...
