Magnum Revolver Underlugs

If you want to achieve the weight distribution of the OP's sketch, just drill out the underlug from the frame end before installing the barrel. You hollowing it out to within an inch from the muzzle you'd get the majority of underlug weight at the muzzle end without looking funny.

Doing so would remove the front locking bolt for the extractor rod. I understand they can get by without them, but Im happy to have them in place.

Every body has their druthers, and this happens to be one of my favorite DA revolvers, a 5" full lug Model 29:

These Model 586s persuaded me to forsake the Python and never look back.

Underlug barrels may help with recoil, but I find barrel-heavy wheelguns to be harder to manipulate quickly - especially against moving targets. I just don't have the forearms and hands of a Jordan or a Miculek, and I need guns that settle the weight in the hand moreso than out in front.

That doesn't mean that underlug guns suck - it just means that they're not for me.
