Looking around the various lgs today I ran across 3 that carry Magnus bullets in the calibers I need and the prices seem fair. Similar to Missouri bullet company after shipping and whatnot. I would prefer to buy local unless the bullets are crap as this will hopefully keep components flowing into the lgs. I'm willing to pay the few dollars difference if I'm getting a fair product. So...anybody use Magnus?

I have used them in 32-20 and 38/357. They make a good bullet, but they are hard cast. I had problems with leading due to the hardness. Switched to Missouri Bullets and started using the softer bullets for lower velocity rounds. MBC cost is lower if you buy from Powder Valley.

I have used a few boxes of their stuff, but it has all been JHP so far. For what it's worth, they all have done just fine so far.

I've got some 9mm lead bullets. Never noticed any leading but have really been looking or running them hot.

They are a local company here but can only be had through one LGS which is a little too expensive.

I am no world class pistol shooter, but I have shot many boxes of Magnus bullets in .38, .44 Spl, and .45 ACP, as well as a couple in 9MM (Still have a box of those), and they shot well for me.

I have used the 215 LSWC in a 44spec
That became my favorite in .44 Spl.

I used to have many boxes of his bullets. They are very good as was the owner of the company (not sure if it is the same now) Helped me with some COL issues.

Terry, Magnus's owner is a Distinguished Pistol shooter. Just put a micrometer on his bullets to see how round and accurate they are and then put them on a scale and see how even they are and you will answer all your questions. I shoot his #801 185 gr. and they just make one nice big hole.

I use their .309" cast bullets in my single shot 30-30 with excellent results out to 100 yards.
Also have some of their swaged .358" 158 LSWC-HPs. It's the best looking lead HP I've seen.

I have used thousands of their 9mm and hundreds of .30 Carbine cast bullets, and half a box of .38 Special swaged SWCHP's. (purchased from Midsouth Shooters Supply) All are top-notch and reasonably priced. I mostly cast my own .38 Special bullets.

Their cast bullets might be too hard for light target loads in some cartridges. That's why they also sell swaged bullets.

I have also shot many boxes of Magnus bullets, mostly in 38 and 45 and I have no complaints at all. If you are local to you and you want to support them you are not hurting yourself IMO.

Something I forgot to mention about Magnus and Terry. I had ordered 2,000 of his 98 gr. WC for my .32 S&W Long and asked for sizing at .313. This was right at the peak of the lack of everything crush. Well, as is wont to happen on occasion, someone forgot to size the bullets and I received .3145 bullets. Didn't realize it until I was wondering why they weren't grouping properly, put the mic on them and realized what had happened. I emailed Terry. Should I send them back for sizing or ??? Got an email back from Terry apologizing and saying 2,000 would be shipped ASAP correctly sized at .313 and a call tag for the wrong bullets. Week or so down the road, the .313's arrive and no call tag. I email Terry and he told me to just keep them for the inconvenience.

Thats a good story, love folks who stand behind their product.

I didnt know they had FMJ..? Thought it was just a lead outfit. Not sure why I thought that but it's good to know otherwise.

Shot thousands of rounds (45acp, 45lc, 38spl, 9mm) of his lead. Never had any significant issues. Would recommend. He also helps out his local competition shooters.
