Magpul AR magazines

I have a RRA M4 that i purchased a few years ago. Today i took it to the range for the first time and used some cheap 40rd mags and my beta C mag. The cheap 40rders jammed up constantly and i threw them away. The beta C worked like a champ, but really has to be jammed in to lock. When i left the range i wanted to buy a couple new mags to replace the cheapos. I purchased 2 Magpul 30 rounders that were manufactured in Oct 2007. When i got them home i tried to fit them in the M4 but they will not lock at all. It does not seem to be the same problem as the S&W's as the part that is getting filed is still below the magwell when the mag is fully inserted. Please advise as i was very excited about using these magazines.
thanks,

oddly enough i removed 1round from the full mag and it now fits. I guess my MAPULs are only 29 rounders.

They should function with 30 rnds with no problems.

My advice is contact MAGPUL and tell them the problem.

They have a reputation for good customer service.

I've been having this problem with my S&W M&P15T too. When you call S&W support what would you tell them?? "I need my lower replaced with a to-spec lower"??

Actually, Magpul mags will hold 31 rounds. Telemekhos, did you count the rounds as you put them in or just keep putting them in til you can't anymore? If you do that, it'll hold 31, but won't actually seat. There's enough room for that 31st round to make seating easier when it's loaded with 30... if that makes sense.
