When I did the 'how-to' video for installing this forend, I said I do a review of it after testing it in the field (if you will...) and here it is.

Pros:
-Cost (I paid $25)
-Ease of installation (see previous video)
-Modularity (accepts rails and all the accessories that accompany them)
-Solid lock up (very little to no play at all)
-Design allows easy manipulation of the action, more so than the OEM forend
-Appearance (just plain looks good on the shotgun)

Cons:
-Creates wear marks on the barrel/mag tube.

Here's the review video:

All in all, I love this forend. It's one of those products that makes you say, "Why didn't anyone make this before?" I just ordered a few more to replace the forend on all of my 870s.

Nice 870. ;)

I've been shopping for a Mossberg youth model for my daughter and the foregrips appear to be sloppy/dragging on the barrels too.

I've got the synthetic Shurshot replacement stock on my 870 and it came with the foregrip - no contact thankfully.

I think the fore-end causing wear marks on the mag tube are due to the action tube itself rather than the fore-end surrounding it. Wear marks on the barrel however are most likely from the fore-end.

Very possible, I'll have to take it out later and really look at it as I'm working the action....

Overall, the fore-end looks pretty ergonomic, and the MOE slot for a flash light on either side looks good.

Is it considered patent-infringement if another company for example like ATI used the exact same fore-end but designed it for a Mossberg, Winchester etc.?
