Great data. This isn't one of the rounds LuckyGunner tested in their series, and comparing your data with their chart is interesting. They tested in a Glock 20 but none of their recorded velocities were higher than 1200 FPS except the Federal 180gn Trophy Bonded which had no expansion at .40" and 32"+ of penetration.

In fact this ammo appears to be the highest velocity 180gn round (that expands) and tied for largest expansion diameter at 0.76" (though a smaller set, just 2 shots of data compared to LuckyGunner's 5) compared to the Sig 180gn V-Crown also at 0.76" but only 1138 FPS, making it arguably the best 180gn load in the combined data set, or at least tied with the 180gn v-crown.

Any 10mm ammo under $20 that is getting nearly 1200 fps from a 5 inch barrel is good stuff, make it a hollow point that does its job is icing on the cake.

Sure, it's not as fast as the 1300 fps that Underwood/Doubletap/Buffalo Bore advertise, but it's still a lot faster than .40 S&W.

You don't find the 12" of penetration on the bare gel to be suboptimal?

Because those were bare gel shots, they expanded a lot, almost twice the diameter. The more the expansion, the lower the penetration depth. With a clothed target, like in cold weather, this 10mm would work just fine.

The choice in this price range is either accept lower penetration to get hotter 10mm velocity or buy the slow Federal stuff and get more penetration.
