I've been squirreling away bullets for the 1894 44 Mag lately. Had several hundred of these Magtech .429 SJSP come up cheap from a range acquaintance.

Any experience with these things?

Do they hold together well enough for deer/pig or should I set 'em up for range & plinking only?

I've got Unique and 2400 sitting on the shelf with W-W brass and CCI 300 primers. I look at the Alliant data for 2400 and a generic JSP with 18.7g max, Lymans 48th with the Speer JHP with 20.5g max and the Hornady data for the 240 XTP with a 21.5g max and the spread just seems too wide.

If the bullet is light duty I'll just settle somewhere aroung 9g of Unique and use 'em for range duty for my boy and my brother that's recoil shy. But if the bullet is pretty standard JSP stuff I'd like to push it a little more towards my field load with the XTP.
