Making a Bullwhip

Has anyone had experience making a bullwhip? I found a pdf file online that told how to make a nylon bullwhip, and thought it would be a nice addition to my leather one. I might make one depending upon whether or not I can find some extra time.

Any help/tips/techniques would be appreciated.

Sorry, but other than movies a bullwhip isn't a weapon and a tad out of scope for us.

get the book Whips and Whipmaking by Morgan it has a lot of good info and I have used a good bit of it. just one thing you have to pull "HARD" when braiding a whip. it will loosen up in a short time when you start snapping it. be careful I have scars from learning to work a 8' lead butted Snake whip

And trust me a good whip is a weapon just ask anyone that has been hit with one.

Thanks, I'll check that out as it sounds like what I'm looking for.

I've hit myself plenty with my bull whip, and in an emergency, it definitely could be used for a weapon.
