Making my 1 1/2" holster fit my 1 3/4" belt

I received my Wilderness Frequent Flyer belt in the CSM and 1 3/4" version. My factory holster that came with my XD40sc seems to be made to fit a 1 1/2" belt.

While I save money for a nicer OWB holster like High Noon or similar, I want to use the factory holster.

Would be okay or stupid to use a file on the holster?

What do you guys think is the best way to get the holster to fit the belt?

I use the supplied factory holster for my xDM sometimes and almost always wear it on a 1-3/4" Wilderness Instructor belt (with the stiffener).

I've never been tempted to file on it. Seems to work great. The mag pouch takes some grunting and straining to pull onto the belt, but it sure does stay put.

Sometimes brute force is best!

Thanks for replying Sam. I thought about forcing it but didn't want to damage my new belt.
