So I finally got my trap gun back after a bunch of work was done on it. It's tight again.:)

I took it to the range and found something interesting. I shot a straight from 21 yards. The 21 yard line is under a mesh sunshade. I shot 14 from 25, out in the bright midday sun.

I think my eye kept getting re-focused on the big bright white bead, and my brain lost its track of the bird, when the sun shone directly on the bead.

Anyone find a way of dulling the thing a bit in the bright sunlight? I'm thinking carbon black dust or something, so it's easy to remove.

I know some people take the things off altogether, but I'd rather leave it on for now, if there's a solution. I sometimes shoot night league, and the bead does help my brain point the gun, provided I don't focus on it.

sight-black
the aerosol in a can version of the old carbide smokers. wipes off when you don't want it on there anymore. highpower rifle shooters have used it for years.
I use it on my S&W revolvers because I absolutely detest those orange front ramps.

I didn't know there was such a thing, though I've often wished for it, e.g. on a stainless front sight.

Thanks!

Does it just wipe off, even if the sight is plastic?
