Man, I love the older generation

Trent,

The spare bolt and firing pins are excellent, because they are probably modified for the semiauto gun. I would suggest getting a spare semi-auto FCG set, because that will be particularly difficult to replace should it ever break (unless you can manufacture/modify parts yourself).

A couple recoil springs would be an excellent investment, and definitely at least one spare barrel and a top cover assembly. You can get a pretty rough parts kit from Centerfire for $250, or a really nice one from Allegheny Arsenal (www.mg34.com) for $600. Apex (www.apexgunparts.com) has barrels for $129. Both Apex and Allegheny are good folks to work with (actually, they are both friends of mine), and have a selection of other 42 parts and accessories. I have a Yugo M53 tripod adapted for my 1919, and they are great machines that are still cheap to get. If you want individual parts (or a .308 conversion), RTG (http://robertrtg.com/mg.html) also has a bunch of 42 stuff, including semiauto conversion parts.

It won't be too long before the parts kits are gone, and parts prices really take off.
