Man Saved by his Fat

Back in the 70s, the my PD and the EMTs were called to a nightclub. It was a particularly LOUD club with a very active dance floor. A very . . . er . . . substantial female patron had been shot. In the buttock! Subsequent investigation led to the conclusion some fellow dancer had dropped his .25 pocket pistol, which apparently discharged, with the round striking the woman. Kinda difficult to positively determine more facts, because:
1) The music was so loud no one (including the victim) seemed to have heard the gunshot.

2) The victim didn't realize she was injured till she left the dance floor, sat in her chair, and it HURT!

Fire fighter buddy went to a call of a man shot...25 acp bounced off the guys skull......
as for the fat guy.....I knew I was tactical.....low center of gravity,hard to knock over and apparently bullett proof....

Trooper Coates shooting out of SC. Trooper Coates hit his assailant four times in the torso with a .357 Mag. Fat guy lived. Trooper Coates was hit with a .22 which entered in the arm hole of his vest and killed him. .357 Mag won't always kill, a .22 sometimes does.

Ah, i remember the days when I would eat a banana split and drink a couple of shakes every day trying to gain weight. Now all I have to do is look at the stuff and I'm up a couple of pounds. But at least it serves a purpose.
