TEENAGE GIRL SHOT BY BMX GUN GANG

She's hit in shoulder as thugs terrorise kids playing on street
By Jan Disley
A TEENAGE girl was shot by a gang of masked thugs on BMX bikes after they rode into a street and terrorised children.

The 16-year-old was sitting eating chips when the yobs pedalled down the road and opened fire.

As children screamed in terror, she ran towards the safety of a nearby house but was hit in the shoulder.

Police believe the bike thugs are from a gang that is battling rivals for control of the drugs trade on Manchester's notorious Moss Side.

The attack came a few streets from the spot where 15-year-old Jessie James was found shot dead three weeks ago. Mother of 10 Blossome Daley, 41, told how she heard someone yelling in the street outside her home on Thursday evening - then a series of shots.

She added: "It was about 9.30pm and the kids were playing in the street as they always do. I heard a bang.

"At first I thought it was a firework but then I heard four more bangs - pop, pop, pop, pop. I ran to my bathroom window and saw a gang of about 15 all dressed in pure black. You couldn't see their faces. One who had his face hidden by a balaclava was waving a silver pistol about as the kids screamed.

"They'd ridden in to the road as if they were looking for someone in particular - like they wanted a war."

The girl was shot in Blossome's front garden as she ran in a panic towards the house.

She added: "She was just sitting in a car outside my front gate eating chips when the gang arrived. She tried to get to safety and ran to my door but got hit. The girl was bleeding but the gang just rode off as if they did not have a care." Blossome insisted neither the girl nor any of her children are mixed up with drugs, but added: "There are some bad people around here."

The girl, who has not been named, was last night back home after hospital treatment.

The BMX raid is believed to be connected to an ongoing war between the rival Gooch Close and Doddington gangs for control of the local heroin and cocaine trade. Jessie was shot three times in what police say was probably a case of mistaken identity.

And unfortunately, in the majority of these situations, the shooters and victims are black and the community in which the victims live has no intention or motivation to fix the problem from within. They could easily provide the police with anonymous tips about who has been involved in these shootings, but they don't. Instead they blame the police for the rise in crime. I say if they aren't prepared to bring up their children properly, with respect for human life and if they don't show proper respect and co-operation with the law then these incidents are to be expected.

I'm also quite tired of kids having diplomatic immunity in the public eye here in the UK. I find that they are rude, have no respect for adults and generally behave like the typical Chav. Maybe I see the worst of this because I live in London. You can't shout at kids who are throwing eggs at passers-by because they shout back that you must shut up or they'll phone a bunch of their friends to come and sort you out. If you are in a group yourself, they threaten to have you labelled a paedophile. 'Get lost,' they sneer, 'why are you even talking to us, are you a paedo?'
I have been in that exact position and when I phoned the police they said unless I get hit by an egg, they can't do anything. When I ask them what they can do after the event, they say they will have a word with the kids' parents.

What we have here in the UK is a chronic lack of discipline and a diminishing of moral responsibility in the youth. I would hazard an educated guess that much of the greatness of the UK people is restricted to the over 50s. We face a very real threat of chaos and anarchy here in the UK and nobody seems to realise it. Maybe they need to see how other nations' children behave. Even the South African kids are far better behaved.

I will sum up with this analogy: if I was caught throwing eggs at passers-by in SA, and somebody told the police, a policeman would grab me by the ear, twist it nicely and give me a high-decibel explanantion of where I had gone wrong. And when he marched me home and my father opened the door to see the policeman with me there, my dad would give me a few clouts on top of that, because of the shame of a policeman having to bring his son home after being a public nuisance.
Now in the UK: first of all the policeman has his hands tied. He may be able to shout at the kid but he can't give him a clip around the earhole. If he escorts the kid home, he can expect fierce outrage from the parents. 'What are you doing to my boy?'
That sort of attitude.

Watch the next 30 years with interest, people, because unless there is a major shakeup here, the UK will be known as the land of Chavs, Lay-abouts and Hooligans.

Amen. There are plenty of decent, upstanding kids who arn't hurting anyone. But there's a fair few who deserve nothing more than to be strung up as an example. Of course, the police wonm't do anything about them and if you shout at them, defend yourself, speak to their parents or anything like that, you'll be the one in trouble. Luckily I live in an alright area and I havn't had any trouble personally, but a man down my road has had bricks thrown through his car's windows and there's always stories in the papers of people being mugged or attacked or having cars and property vandalised. I dread to think what will happen to me when it happens to me and I end up shooting the bastards.

Yep. A fair few of my friends and their friends don't get into trouble. Of course, that may be due to them being to stoned, but we'll leave that for another time.

My mum can't understand why I'm interested in Airsoft and (to a smaller extent) real guns. Personally, I'd rather be someone shooting holes in paper than getting drunk and (more than likely) having holes shot in me.

Obviously, this story is phony because there are no guns in England. They banned them a few years back, so there are none. Right?

Right?........

Right?".............

'Me generation' thinking - it's happening in Germany and the US. That I can say for sure and it sounds like the UK is seeing it too. BTW - before I get flamed, my generation is firmly in the middle of said time span - but my parents were borderline Victorian in how they raised kids. So I see the problem, but I refuse to become a part of it.

I am very sorry to hear of this state of affairs in the UK.

I expect the answer to the question I'm about to ask is one of those answers that can either be one sentence or 100 pages but nothing in between, but here goes anyway: What Happened to make the UK come to this state of events?

Post-industrial cities in the UK are quickly becoming "A Clockwork Orange". Also see "Happy Slapping", wherein groups of thug teens randomly kick the s%*t out of someone on the street, while videotaping it to enjoy later.

Absolutely right, they may have seemed far fetched to some, but we are getting closer to the 'Clockwork Orange'/'1984' situation.

On the one hand law abiding citizens are being subjected to an Orwellian state not at all unlike that in 1984. On the other hand, undisciplined cretins ('thugs' is far too masculin a word in my opinion) can run free and torment everyone else.

Have a look at this, only last night:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/5398866.stm

"Steven did what any normal citizen would do in a situation like this if someone is causing a disturbance."

No, he did what any normal citizen would do in, as George Orwell described Airstrip 1, "a world where firearms are almost completely unprocurable", and chose to confront, quite probably violent persons, whilst unarmed. This is in no way an attack upon his actions, but an attack upon those responsible for his death: the bastards that stabbed him, and the government which disarmed him.

@ Fosbery

I was just thinking that today: that guy should have been armed and he should have been able to shoot the first toe-rag to pull a knife. What are we going to do if it is one of us? There's nothing we can do. It's disgusting. We are being held hostage by a bunch of teenage Chavs.

There is a big problem on the horizon for the UK.

I know someone who lives in one of the aforementioned areas. Not only do they have to dodge gangs of teenage toughs looking for trouble just getting to the train, but someone burnt their motorcycle for no reason.

Real nice place.

Oh they had a reason, same reason they always have. It seemed like "fun" at the time. That's all the reason they needed. :banghead:

Without consequences it's actually kind of irrational not to engage in instant primal gratification. They're just doing what comes naturally, like all uncivilized things. :uhoh:

but... but....

I thought guns were illegal in Great Britain???? I thought it was a crime free Utopia of kittens and puppies. I thought they solved all of their problems by banning guns! Where could they have gone wrong?

I still say we should just put a sign on our shore that says, "Criminals, Great Britain, This Way. Now gun free!, Enjoy yourselves with no one protecting themselves"

Have a nice day!

Crap. Now we're gonna have to ban eggs...

Street punks and thugs anywhere need a good as# whooping. So do many governments like N. Korea, Cuba, Burma, Venezuela. Sadly the people in these countries are too scared of their Mafia Governments, or the thugs on the street. A shame V for Vendetta isnt required movie watching.

I think that there should be a law passed in the US (and now the UK) where you are required to beat teenagers if they show signs of disrespect. Either that or liquidate everyone under 22. Beat everyone under 27. Starve for 1 week everyone under 35. And shot everyone under 62 in the knee because they raised a$$holes.

Might as well try eh...

Well, the discipline in schools over the years has greatly diminished and that caining had stopped in 1986,for state schools and for private schools in 1998.Those kids think that they are invincible and that they can cause as much trouble as they like, without getting into such serious trouble.

They should bring back National Service, caining in schools and allow unruly kids to be physically hauled out by their ass,by the teacher-as was the case years ago.

Also Labour should toughen up on their approach to minor offenders,as there is serious overcrowding in borstals and in jails.

Security guards should carry nightsticks,cs gas, pepper spray, tazers and occasionally pistols.
