Delorm has the contract for USGS maps on DVDs. I bought the US set. For My state Wildfower Productutions did the USGS maps on CD and sold out to Delorm. Your county ORV office alsl produces a good scale map and you may need it anyway as in some jurisdictions federal agencies set waht roads can be traveled and those roads are printed on the ORV map so if you are driving on a road printed on the ORV map you are driving in a non closed area.

State Atlas and Gazets are not bad. Ther is also a map series called Green Trails.

You can also use Google Earth and Map Quest.

Not really, but UTM is the same basic system and uses a very similar tool. I came over from a MGRS system and found UTM to be easy to learn. The big difference is your 10,000m grids are represented by numbers rather than a number letter combo.

I carry that tool in my map case and find it works very good. It has all the big scales on it including 1:25,000 which is what the military uses, or used. Just don't use the 1:25k part on a 1:24k map. It will not work.
