Took a trip saturday to the recently opened Marine museum near the Marine base in Quantico Va. Anyone travelling on 95 should stop by and check it out. Admission is free so no complaints about price! There are several weapons displays. I saw 2 1941 Johnson semi-auto rifles and 2 reising sub machine guns, one with a folding para style stock. Also on display is a Boys anti tank rifle, never seen one up close, AWESOME!, that thing is massive. One disturbing display was of a G.I. holding an M1 on which, I guess for safety reasons, the bolt and trigger guard had been epoxied shut !!! For $5 you can shoot an AR15 for score on a simulated range. There is a lot there to see and do and, having never served, just a lot of the awe and respect feeling I always get thinking about what all of these guys have done, THANKS to all of you out there! Oh yeah if you do get to visit leave any weapons in your car, even a pocket knife it will save you a walk back to put it away. Security looks like that of my local courthouse, metal detectors and all.
