I might try to look at some Marlin 1894s this weekend , more than likely if I were to get one it would be the 1894C in .357 Magnum.
I was able to borrow one a few years ago , a Micro-Groove version and it shot pretty well for me using 158 JHP reloads. Also used to own an 1894 in 44 Mag , again a Micro-Groove that I considered to be very accurate with 240 JHPs.
My question is how do the Ballard cut rifle barrels compare in accuracy to the older Micro-Groove barrels firing jacketed bullets? Anyone have firsthand experience comparing the two barrel types chambered in the same cartridge?
