A friend bought 2 new marlin's a few years back... NIB 1894 SS model 44's... He would like to know what the stamp on the barrel may indicate.... there appears to be an upside down "R" followed by JM then XE.... Anyone have any ideas? Thanks so much!
JM means "John Marlin,"... not sure about the other markings. If they are pre 2009 they bring a premium. I sold one for $900 recently, and still have one in the safe.
