Guys Just bought a Marlin 1895 ss would like to put a peep sight on it
how or where can I get date of it manufacture

What are the first 2 digits of the serial number?

Take the first two digits of the serial# and subtract from 2000. You will have your year of manufacture.

So does that only work with 1895 Marlins, or all Marlins?
Or just 2001 and later Marlins?

I have an 1894P I bought new in 2000.
Subtracting serial # 33xxx from 2000 would be 1967!

It works for most all Marlins...but he got it wrong. (there were "special runs" and such that were numbered different)

For 2001 and later models you have to use 2100 instead of 2000.
