I'm looking for info regarding bullet types and max bullet weight (semi-jacketed SP) for use in a model 336 .44 mag with micro groove rifling.

I also plan on shooting a fair amount of .44 special, and already bought some cast lead cowboy loads (<800fps). Should I expect any leading problems with the low velocity loads?

Lastly, how hot of a magnum load will this rifle comfortably tolerate?

Thanks!

Not sure about the 336 series but the 1894 series (basically the same design) doesn't like very hot loads. If shooting factory fodder stick with the mainline loadings, i.e. the 180s - 240s. I managed to shoot my 1894 loose with 300 grain rounds.
As to lead rounds, the Micro-Groove barrel is designed more towards jacketed bullets but lead can be fired through them. Good enough for practical accuracy but you won't win anything for moa shooting.
