Marlin 336 tang sight

Has anyone tried the Lyman or the Marbles tang sights for this rifle? How does it work? Is installation difficult? My 336 was made in 1948, before they drilled and tapped the receiver, and I am looking for a different way to get a better sighting system on my rifle.

The Williams receiver sight is another option. Have one on my Marlin 1895 cowboy in 45/70. works great!

I have heard wonderful things about that sight, but it requires a drilled and tapped receiver, which I don't have.
