Was at Walmart tonight and they had a standard 336 and a Youth model I have not seen. It has a shortened buttstock about 12" I think. 18" barrel, 30-30 cal.
Laminated forearm and buttstock and standard sights. There is a sling swivel on the ring at end of forearm that would accept a Milspec sling swivel.
$407.00 for it while the standard Model was 387.00.
If I did not already have my Texan I would have probably jumped on it.
It had that marvelous lever lock Walmart puts on that made me feel ever so safe so I couldn't work the action. The bolt was black in color so I am assuming it is blued and not chromed like my Texan.
Does anyone know if all of the bolts are no longer chromed?
I see no reason why this would not make a great backpack rifle that would slide down in many packs. I did not have a tape with me but I am guessing it is right at 36" long.
I could not focus on front sight (w/ glasses on) so for a old guy a scope is required even if it is a red dot.
Perhaps with a Aimtech see thru base I might could focus on front sight
