Marlin 336A Instructions needed!!

A friend just gave me a 336A in 35 Rem to look at. I cannot fully open the lever or close the lever and I would like to see a set of instructions for disassembly and any parts diagrams that are available for this rifle. Any info would be appreciated.

Read this. it is step by step with good pics as well. It will work for the 336 and 1895 centerfires not sure about the 1894 series though.

If the loading gate screw gets loose it will let the gate get in the way and will cause this problem. Check the small screw on the side of the reciever behind the loading gate to see if its tight. I've had this happen a few times.

Had that issue on my Mdl 30AW a few years back. Couldn't figure out what was wrong, until I did RTFM (Read That Fine Manual )

Seems that whee that loading gate screw gets loose, the action gets blocked from fully moving.

That screw is driectly behind the loading gate. When I tighted it up on my rifle, suddently I heard kind of a metalic "Ploink!", and then everything worked as designed.
