Ok, one of my best friends owns a Marlin 336w, and wants to know what the best condition to store it in is.
Keep in mind, it's stored unloaded.
Now, I say it's best to keep the hammer at the half-cock notch (reduces tension on both mainspring and firing pin spring, )
His older brother says "cocked and locked" or "hammer down"
So, who's right?
No BS, just the facts, as the mechanics of the rifle support them,
