It's used well, not abused but not more than say, 75% finish wise but functions flawlessly. Has a cheap old ugly as sin scope onit on a cheap mount but the iron sights are still "under there'. Wood is nice, but not perfect.....should I?

No it's THE classiest lever action 22 ever made.

I have two 39s. I agree. But the only info I could find on a G is that it was a pump gun.

How old is it? Is this a collectible of some sort that isn't obvious?

One of my 39s is a rare variant (tapered octagon Mountie that looks like a Marlin "Cowboy" series gun), and in ~98% condition. I paid $400 for it at a store. My 39A was around $500 new, a couple years ago. I think the price of that gun is too high, unless there's a peripheral reason for it (rare barrel length, rare combo of PG and barrel length, etc.).

What's the "g" in your question, then?

Hello friends and neighbors // No 39A g in my book either.

If g is for the Golden Model 39A, their current production.

Prices in book are lower than store or FTF prices here in SC.

At least you found one for sale, Good eye.

That seems a bit high imo at least usually see them for 300 350 in similar sounding shape, since its 429 i assume its in a shop try offering them like 350 if you want it

I look for them everytime I go look. This is the first one I have seen for sale in 30 years. It is an older one, not sure of vintage but it looks like it it from the 60s.

I bought an as new 39A last year for $350. I would not pay $429 for a 75% 39A unless I collected them which I don't. As always, the devil is in the details.

I've never seen one without a full-length mag tube. Are there some?

So it's a 39A Mountie. Regular round barrel, or is it an octagon or something?

I would look around. I just bought an E (1948) 39A for $400 out the door with Weaver J4scope and very little rust compared to others I have seen. Another store had a used one for $400 that was made in the 70s. So you can find better for less.
