Marlin 60 Trigger Solutions

I probably need to try the mcarbo kit. I have a Marlin 60 a buddy bought me for my wedding back in 2014, and I rarely shoot it. I measured the trigger once, it has a 9lb pull.

I have an Mcarbo kit in my 795, and the trigger pulls lighter, and the over-travel can be adjusted, but it's still a squishy trigger.

I believe I read M*CARBO discontinued the trigger, so the overtravel adjustment probably wouldn't be available anymore. They do still sell the spring kit though, what I read said they just weren't selling enough of the trigger to justify continuing to offer them. I thought it was a huge improvement over the original blade, personally.

The Mcarbo kit will lighten the trigger a couple of pounds but in my rifle it did nothing to solve the creep issue. The pull remains very inconsistent and gritty. Apologists and fanboys aside, the 60 really has a junk trigger group design. It was made to be dirt cheap to produce and it shows up in the feel. This is a shame as otherwise the rifle is very good.

If you want a good trigger, get a Ruger.
If you want a REALLY good trigger, get a CZ

when the buffer goes tits up you will have a jamomatic and it will go. the new replacements are the way to go. my 45 camp gun buffer went tits up after only 50 rounds since new.
