My son has a marlin 99 m-1 that we cannot figure out. Unless we fire the cci minimags and have it very clean, it will not fully eject the casings about every 3-4 rounds. I thought it was the buffer but we replaced it and still no go. any ideas?
Thanks,
Ken

Give it a good cleaning, use a graphite lube on the rails. Also check the chamber for damage, burrs.

Hi There, I have a Marlin Model 99. (no M or other letters) When doing a detaied cleaning teh trigger assembly (with all those springs) came apart. Can someone please send or direct me to a detailed assembly drawing? I looked at Brownells with no luck.

I had the same problem, I tore mine down to pieces and gave it a thorough cleaning. Then it still!! did it!..... but not as often. I wound up cleaning/polishing the chamber with a small mop and Flitz metal polish. This pretty much solved the problem, I get a FTE once every 3 or 4 mags now. Everything I have read about this model, this is a very common problem.

Also check the ejector/extractor and the recess (it gets gunked up) it fits into, and the spring tension.

Numrich has a parts schematic online, but it may be difficult to see how to properly assemble it from that.

Click on "M", select "Marlin/Glenfield and find your model...there is a schematic for the 99M1, the trigger pack should be similar/same for all the Marlin 99's.
