Marlin Bolt Action 22LR Design

Hi,

I was wondering if these are based of a Mauser 98 action? I have the 925 and it looks like it is CRF because it picks up the cartridge from the magazine and the extractor is already around the rim. Also, the iron sights are like a K98 mauser with the front post blade and the rear notch sight. Just an observation.

I doubt it, I would guess a marlin 80 would be more so, since they are 70 years old. the 25's have been around, and it is one of the best, most robust, simplest designs out there, but doubt they copied the mauser.
