A guy at work has a marlin model 60 that was in horrid shape. I decided to fix it for him because it's fun for me and cheaper for him... here's the problem: He gave me the wrong date for the gun so I ordered the newer mag tube (some how the rifle has none and he can't find it). Well, that's 15 plus shipping I'll never see again, but I cannot find the older mag tubes anywhere. What do you suggest? the gun was made in '85 if it matters.
Should I try to make one from a brass tube at Lowes or what?

Since it never hurts to ask, if you have an extra one laying around I'll trade you the newer style magazine, and your choice of a stevens 200 stock or a remington 700 sps short action stock.

Thanks,

courtgreene

EDIT: before some one says it, I can't just give him the thing back and tell him to take better care of future purchases, I've already got a bunch of work in it and I finish what I start. Thanks again.

Dang, they are too.... I swear when I posted the link it didn't say sold out! :what:

I've got an old style Marlin Model 60, but I'm not interested in trying to fit a new style mag tube to it and hope it works - Good luck with your search.

It may help if you give a measurement of the mag tube you need. I probably have one, just not sure I want to let it go. Which sps stock? The Houge?

Let me think about that. I was getting ready to cut mine up to bed it. Maybe a spare woudn't be a bad idea.

let me know in the next few days, if I can't get one from you or someone on here I'm going to have to order another. PMs are most expedient.

I've been looking for one of these for a while. I can find the newer mag tubes, but they are a different size. Most places are constantly sold out of the one I need.

Therefore, I'm also interested if anyone finds any.

It seems like there's a market for them... you garage-fabricators of whom I am jealous may have an opportunity out there.
