The link doesn't help me at all. More info on the knife please. I can't determine what brand it is or what it looked like before removing the scales.

Why did you remove the G10?

I was curious about how well finished the Ti would be and how it carried and used without them. They're sitting in a zip loc at the bottom of a box of scales and bits and pieces and I doubt they'll ever see daylight again.

They're made by WE for Massdrop as an exclusive. I've bought 7 of the things and have been impressed with the quality (all perfectly centered and fitted) and the blades. It has held an edge very well and has just needed a touchup on the lip of my cup at work just once.

You have to join Massdrop since they sell below MAP and the prices can drop if enough people preorder the products. It is like our group buys on knives where if we get enough participants we can place an order and get near wholesale on some knives or we can negotiate dealer with a custom maker if we have enough people. Massdrop does this as a business model adding their percentages for costs and profit to the price the manufacturer would normally charge a large dealer instead of the public. In my personal experience they are enough below the best internet price for products that aren't being dumped on the market that it is worth the wait for them to get enough orders committed to make their order with the manufacturer. If they don't get the minimum needed, just like we'd have happen, the order won't go through and they don't charge anyone's card.

They have to be a closed group since they're below MAP.

Mass drop as a dealer is just not trustworthy due to the last 2 runs where they have changed designs after taking money then lying about the reasons.

I'd agree they need to be held accountable for those errors, but I've bought through several cycles on the Gent and they've all been perfect. As an established product I consider it safe to buy.

I had enough faith to stop fighting temptation and order one back on the 1st. Free shipping was nice, but charging State Sales Tax was a bit of a surprise...they about evened out.

I was a little surprised that expected delivery wasn't until the 12th. I expected that FedEx would just throw it on one of their planes and it would be here in a couple of days. It took 2 days to get from PA into SoCal, but it has taken 3 days to get across Los Angeles.

Not really complaining, just found it interesting...mostly because I'm used to Amazon's 1 or 2 day deliveries

Yeah, they ain't Amazon. Even for what they have on the shelf they're not going to be fast. That's part of the savings. They don't stock much, they "just in time" (or more like, be patient, you're saving a bunch of money).
