I looked at a few at an area gun shop. I dont remember the price, but I remember that it was around $200. Couldn't dry fire it because there was a warning label on the little pistol stating that you couldn't dry fire it. I remember reading that if you dry fire it , something dislodged inside and the whole gun has to go back to the factory. I have heard that they are quite painful to shoot.

I was looking at getting one, but the whole dry firing issue makes me feel that the gun isnt very well made. I would Google it heavily and then make a decision.

i bought one last year from buds for $275....it is a stout recoil...i hear the newer ones are ported and are much easier on the hands...nice all metal gun...gary

You can't dryfire it without the magazine in place, but you can if it's inserted.

Ask me how I know......

Doesnt the seecamp have the same dry fire issues and cost 2x more ?

Yep double checked the seecamp specs, same issue.
So i dont think that is a indicator of quality ..

"Applying even the slightest pressure to the trigger while removing the magazine prevents the safety from functioning properly. It cannot pivot to block the trigger when the trigger is moved to a position in which the safety is prevented from rotating. When pressure is applied to the trigger on magazine removal, it is the trigger that blocks the magazine safety rather than vice versa.

Consequently, the trigger can now be pulled with the magazine removed. Since the magazine supports the firing mechanism internally, pulling the trigger with the magazine removed causes the mechanism to collapse towards the inside of the gun. In this condition attempting to insert the magazine will result in damage to the draw bar spring, which is the spring that operates the trigger and the draw bar - and also the magazine safety."

Autauga Arms Mark II I had one of these in 32 . I liket my 380 KelTec much more even shooting Corbon better than the Autauga.
This a copy of the Autauga then will become a colloctor item for thet won't sell many.

David E,

Did you own one of the MPA pistols? Just curious as to whether you liked it and how it shot for you.

JP9,

Ah, ok. Thanks for the info. I didnt know that the Seecamp had the same issue. I have always liked the Seecamps and the NAAs, just didnt want to pay their prices. Never been much of a pocket gun guy, but I am coming around. Picked up a Kel-Tec P3AT several months ago. Now coming down with a slight case of mouse gun fever.

No. I'd read it was based off the Seecamp, which has a magazine disconnect safety: the trigger won't pull without a mag inserted. I thought I'd see if the MPA had the same thing. "No," is the short answer....

But it does render the gun inoperable upon pulling the trigger just once without a mag. Turns out there are several videos and such detailing how to fix it if you do that, so it apparently isn't a rare occurrence.

I bought the 1st gen MPA 380 for about 7 months and then sold it for a pocket 9mm. The MPA 380 is built like a tank (solid steel), smaller than the lcp but weighs a tad more. accurate enough. My fingers gets bruised up when I fired it. I upgraded to Rev b trigger upgrade and it helped. Great gun, but I like the 9mm for a tad more power.

As far as dry firing without the mag: Yeah I did it, and it disconnected the latch that presses into the magazine. It's a 30 second fix.
