I just ordered some 200 grain bullets in .452 from master blaster the other day ! have any of you had experience with them or any other polymer coated bullets?:scrutiny:

I like them. In a couple of hours I'll probably shoot the last of 1000 .45 ACP that I loaded a while back. They're cleaner than lead and more accurate than plated.

I like them also. My indoor range requires jacketed bullets and they will allow Masterblasters. They're cheaper than fmj. I like them better than plated. I find they're more accurate than plated and cheaper too. They are a bit more expensive than lead, but a lot less messy to load.

are there any adverse effects from switching between these and jacketed or lead bullets? I shoot alot of lead thru my carry 45 acp for practice, but I use jacketed bullets when I CCW my 45 is why I want to know

These bullets are supposed to leave the bore clean ! I would think there would be no problem unless you had a lot of lead built up in the barrel!

The poly coated bullets do leave a bit of residual poly coating inside the barrel. In my 1911, I usually run a magazine or two of jacketed through it at the end of a session to "clean it out".

Has anyone also shot the "precision" brand moly bullets? They were going to be my next purchase but the master blaster are cheaper...

I bought 250 of Precision and Masterblaster to test out. Precision, I believe, are swaged and Masterblaster are hard cast. The Precision seemed to be a little softer. I couldn't tell any difference in accurracy so I decided to order more of the Masterblaster since they were cheaper.

I have had leading problems in 40 cal with Masterblaster bullets and Titegroup. So I called them and they recommended Ramshot Competition, which I have also tried.

Still have leading in one part of the barrel.

I'm thinking perhaps my problems are due to the newness of the barrel, and that it needs a few jacketed bullets fired through it to wear down some burrs or something?

Haven't shot it in quite a little while.

well I shot 50 rounds of master blaster 200 grain in 45 colt ! no leading but I do see a small amount of fouling in the bore and chambers ,but I think it could be powder residue!!

I like them

I have been using Rainier plated bullets but the price, with shipping has gone through the roof so I ordered 1000 200 gr. RNFP from MasterBlaster. Prompt shipping and reasonable price. I have shot maybe half of them and like them - there is one thing, however, at least in my case I had to increase the "belling" of the cartridge to prevent them from shifting sorta sideways. They appear to be thicker than what I was set up to use.

I think they actually mention this on their website.

I have some from Precision on order as I want to compare the two poly coated bullets.

I have been loading them with 7 grains of AA # 5 and OAL of 1.215 in. which is accurate and cycles the slide on my Glock 30. Some unburned powder in my revolvers but I doubt that has anything to do with the bullet.

I ordered some sample or 250 bags

in three calibers--.38/.357, .40, and .45ACP--after reading this post last weekend. They got here Thursday--prompt service.

So far, they're a positive--the .40 / 180 TMCs I tried in my Kimber 10 functioned perfectly, and that pistol has been fussy using some of my 200-gr. LSWCs or the 170-175 LSWCs I have on hand. I ran these over AA#5 development loads to find a sweet spot--no conclusions yet.

Likewise, I loaded up some of the .45ACP / 200RNSP, again under AA in a development set--and, in a dirty gun, 100% function. Again, no accuracy conclusions yet. Compared to a local 200LSWC (H&G68 mold) that the gun is set up for, they worked just fine--just not sure about the cost difference.

However, they were 'cleaner' to handle while loading, and I appreciated that. Given the widely-varying (lead / non FMJ) pricing we're seeing right now, they may not even be at a price differential. I've not been impressed with plated bullets, but maybe these will be a suitable 'upgrade' for hard cast leads.

Citroen- Post a comparison of the masterblaster vs precision when you find out. One of these 2 is my next 200gr 45 ACP bullet.

We are in the exact same boat. I ordered 4k of Rainier before they bumped up their prices and I will be running out of them in the next few months.

I must add that the People at Master Blaster were really great to deal with ! I wish they had a polymer coated 260-300 grain bullet for the casull !! I didn't try Precision brand becasue they only make 9mm ,40 cal and 45 acp bullets !

I love them. I shoot them exclusively in .45 right now.
4.7 grains of Clays and an OAL of 1.195 gives me a 170 power factor.
I basically don't need to clean. I run a boresnake every once in a while to make myself feel better, but there is no need. The only residue is the lube which doesn't really bother me.

Received today

I was down to less than 200 of the MasterBlaster 200 gr. RNFP in 45 ACP; today my order from Precision arrived so the timing was great. Packaging on he Precision was excellent - actually better than MB although both used USPO to deliver.

The Precision bullets do not have a "lube" groove, are the same diameter
(.450) but are longer - MB measure .538 while the Precision .564.

My measurements could be off by .001 or so.

I plan to load some Precision bullets tonight using the same powder and charge as on the MB. I suspect they will be petty much the same but will let you know if there is any noticeable difference.

Cost on 1000 was $86.60 delivered.
