So I have been thinking about the new XDM. I had the XD45 and loved it to pieces. Want to get another XD and thought that the new XDM would be a good choice because of the upgrades. I have been reading quite a bit laity and there is a fair amount of people that claim that the XDM is just an over priced XD. Nothing spectacular that you couldn’t get done at a good gun smith. But at that point wouldn’t you be over the price of the XDM?

So I guess my question would be what is the typical overall cost of converting a pistol into a match grade. I would assume that if you took your pistol and did have it converted it would turn out better than a factory match grade such as the XDM. So what is better? Do you really get that much "more" out of the XDM or is it recommended to just go with the XD and have the upgrades done yourself. If you are going to do it there is no sense in doing it half a$$ type of thing.

I know I can check prices online about this sort of thing but I would rather get actual figures from people that have gone through the process. Lets say just a new barrel and trigger job.

Thanks
Otis
