These are headed to St. Louis today to be given as a surprise late-birthday gift to a buddy's girlfriend. It was a long, long weekend for me to finish these up.

Aldo's 1095 (5/32")
2000 grit hand sanded finish from 220 to 2000 and then 000 steel wool and WD40
Stabilized black palm with mosaic pins

Sheath is 7-9oz veg tanned, right hip carry with 3 of the mosaic pins in the center. I thought that helped "church up" the sheath a bit.

~8" OAL, only sharpened at the tip because they are intended to be throwing knives. If he wants them fully sharpened later, it shouldn't be a problem.

Fair warning, I am not a good photog in the first place, and trying to get pics of something so reflective is tough!

Having made a dozen or so knives I can appreciate the detailed craftsmanship and talent you posess.

Good work. Keep it up.

I honestly don't know squat about throwing knives, but they look great. The black palm was a good choice I think. It looks really nice, especially with the dark sheath.

Thanks guys! :)

I know I've got the knife-bug because even after all the time I put into these in the last 7 days, I'm still ready to get back in the shop for more!

Thanks Don...

I've seen the knives that some of you guys make, and it means a lot to me to get praise from other makers... (especially you good ones! :) )

Well I never learned this fast, having learned every bit of grinding on my own. I did talk to a lot of other makers and that helps but it's nothing like having someone show you how to do things. Anyone who gets help from a knifemaker is lucky indeed! :)

I can certainly attribute the majority of my learning curve to the internet. It is an amazing thing to be able to have a question, ask it, and have someone thousands of miles away giving your pointers. That just didn't exist 25+ years ago.
