Hello everybody, I don't know if someone has already pointed it out but Mateba is back!
http://www.mateba-italy.com/Revolver/
I recommend to click on the "Guarda altre immagini" banner for more pics.
They are producing a small amount of the .357Mag. 2006M (they called the M2006 now) and the .44Mag. 6-Unica. The prices are not for everyone so are their revolvers...;)
I hope you enjoy.

P.S.: the original name was Ma.Te.Ba. (Macchine Termo Balistiche) which means thermo-ballistic machines.

They certainly are unique looking, sort of remind me of the Chiappa Rhino in appearance.

Edit: Just looked them up, a semi auto revolver, that’s pretty darn unique too!

That's because the original designer of Mateba revolvers, Mr. Emilio Ghisoni (R.I.P.), was also the designer of the Rhino, which was his last revolver design before he passed. Chiappa Firearms bought the Rhino project and modified it to better adapt it to mass production. Infact the first Rhino prototypes had no side plate, just for example; the frame was one piece and the recoil shield had a different connecting shape.

Take also a look at the amazing Mateba MTR-8 revolver and you'll understand how Emilio Ghisoni's mind was totally free of revolver design preconceptions.
